1. Have you tried the latest release (7.9) ? Several bugs have been fixed
since 7.6.

2. Are you sure it isn't a stack overflow problem? That is the most
common PCRE issue that causes segfaults. Please read the "pcrestack" man
page if you have not already done so. There are options you can set to
limit the use of stack.
